Lesson 1-Your Philosophical Heritage

I learned that there are kinds of philosophy in education that teacher could apply into the learners like essentialism that the learner acquire the basic knoledge, skills and values. Progressivism, the teacher will develop the student becoming intelligent citizen in the community. Existentialism it help the student to be more effective and efficient in doing things. Behaviorism help the student to be morally good. And there more philosophy of education that you can search on.

I realized that philosophy of education will tell you of what kind of teacher you are. This all philosophy of education have different effect of the learners. It is more on how you provide information towards student. It's true that teacher has its own philosophy in teaching because every teacher has its own perception on how to feed the knowledge to the student. Different teacher with the different outcome because they don't have the same strategy in teaching. So, every teacher is a unique one.

As a future teacher I will use the philosophy in education the constructivism. For me constructivism helps them to think deeply, planning for their future. Teacher should develop first their intrinsic motivation that enough use with the skill of a learner to contruct goals in life. Through contructivism, they could learn independently as they see the common abstacle in their life and they know how to avoid those thing.
